Violin Bows $40,000.00 and Under:

  • Pierre Simon. A pristine and glorious bow finely mounted in silver and ebony with a round shaft. It bears the maker's brand, "Simon a Paris." This bow glorifies the wonderful qualities of Simon's work. The strong, finely balanced stick produces a smooth and velvety tone. This is the finest example of Simon's work seen by Steven Reiley, President of Guarneri House and Master Bow and Bass Maker. 60 grams.
  • Charles Peccatte. Beautifully mounted in silver with an ebony frog, featuring original mulit-colored tinsel thread winding, this bow is from Peccatte's later period. It bears the maker's brand, "Peccatte," and has a round shaft. The stick is of slightly shorter length, lending the bow a tightly controlled power. The tone is warm and lively, and the stick responds quickly to the most subtle of direction. This bow is capable of both an energetic, fiery forte and a sweet, lyrical pianissimo. 61 grams.
