SOLD :  The Elphinstone Strad  Violin made by Antonio Stradivari of Cremona, bearing a label dated 1684.

NEW: Domenicus Montagnana    A magnificent investment level violin from the golden age of Italian violin making.  Made in Venice in 1742.  this violn is one of his best examples and was exhibited in Boston at the exhibition of the Violin Society of America's Venitian Exhibition.  The violin carries certificates of authenticity by Peter Biddulph of London, Andreas Post of Amsterdam, Philip Greenberg of New York, as well as a letter from Charles Beare of London.  Once owned by a principal of the renowned french Citroen Auto Company, as well as the Professor of violin at the Toulouse Conservatory in France.

Pietro Giacomo Rogeri  Guarneri House is privileged to offer an exquisite violin by the incomparable Italian maker, Pietro Giacomo Rogeri, son of Joannes Baptiste. Made in Brescia in 1721, the violin is the finest of this maker's work that we have seen. It has passed through such noted houses as Caressa and Francois of Paris, Chanot of Paris, and the Rudolph Wurlitzer Co. of New York. Quoting from the 1925 Wurlitzer Catalogue, this instrument is "a marvelously beautiful, small, full-sized violin. Nicolo Amati, in his time, did not do finer work than Pietro Rogerius as shown in this violin. The workmanship is of the highest order, the varnish of the most beautiful description while the wood selection would have done credit to Stradivari." A visually arresting and stunning instrument, photography cannot do its beauty justice. In dimensions its body length is 13 7/8", upper bout 6 3/8", and lower bout 7 7/8", making it an extremely comfortable violin to play. Tonally, the instrument is superior, displaying enormous range of color and the impact required of a major concert violin. This instrument is in a pristine state of preservation and would delight both artist and collector a like.

Nicolas Lupot    Guarneri House is proud to off this magnificent violin made in Paris, 1802, as indicated by the label it bears. This instrument is a model of an Antonio Stradivari made circa 1715.
